Tadhg Slater is a painter and playwright. The two aren’t separate careers—they share an origin. In May 2026, Slater went to the Dune Shack Residency on the outer Cape: no electricity, no running water, no piano. He went to paint. In six days of total silence, he wrote a 319-page musical. Concrete Winter: The Musical and the painting series of the same name were born from the same winter, the same conditions, the same refusal to limit the form.
